Reverse Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is the process in which water is forced by pressure through a semi-permeable membrane. RO specifically involves the separation of dissolved and particulate materials from the water. Water passes through the membrane while the dissolved and particulate materials are left behind. When pressure is applied to the concentrated solution, water is forced through the membrane from the concentrated side to the diluted side, leaving a purified water on one side of the membrane and a highly concentrated water solution on the other side of the membrane. The two water streams are then separated in the RO unit to produce purified water (product) and a concentrated waste water (reject). Over 98% of all dissolved and suspended matter are removed.

CIW Defense offers a full range of RO equipment for any size or process application.
